Access Control in Code Roller

Access control is how you control access to your content on Code Roller. You can learn more about access control from this technical white paper.

  • a default, public access control is created for you when you register
  • the access control drop down list is available on the following edit screens; project, event, content, diagram, chat room, and contact.
  • you can opt to reuse an already existing access control by selecting it in the drop down list or
  • you can create a new one

Adding a New Access Control

  • click on the New Access Control link
  • fill out the form
    • the code identifies this access control in search results and drop down lists
    • you have a place to describe this access control and how it is to be used
    • The public checkbox determines how the rest of the fields are interpreted when blank. If checked and the project and team fields are blank, then the access control is public. If unchecked and the project and team fields are blank, then the access control is private.
    • select the project whose members will have edit access in the edit project drop down list
    • select which team whose members will have edit access in the edit team drop down list
    • select the project whose members are to have view only access in the view project drop down list
    • select the team whose members hare to ave view only access in the view team drop down list
  • click the Add button
  • click on the appropriate breadcrumb link
  • select the newly created access control from the drop down list
