Thanks for this inspirational post. Integrity and respect goes a long way towards building trust in a people oriented world. Authentic listening needs to take precedence over conflict avoidance. I guess what you're saying is that, without community managers, companies take the real risk of losing customer/client/consultant engagement. Just as interaction engineers and graphical designers are experts in the field of GUI UX, community managers are experts in the field of social UX.
